What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are inserted into your computer via websites.
Cookies are usually used for stuff such as:

And no, cookies cannot harm your computer in any way whatsoever as cookies are too fragile to handle viruses, which are too big to even fit.

What do Autofeed's cookies have?

To put it simply, Autofeed uses cookies as a way to make the server be able to know which user is which.
Let's say that there are two users on the site (@bob and @emma) and they are casually strolling the pages on Autofeed.
But, since they do not have cookies, the server has a very hard time knowing which user is which, and that makes the server
send out @bob's inbox page over to @emma!
Another thing that Autofeed does with cookies is make your browser store your IP address. This might sound weird and confusing, and you may
be asking your screen "Well, why does Autofeed store your IP?" It's simple really, so let me give you another example of this.
There's this user on the site called @badguy, and well, he is a bad guy, he does illegal stuff on Autofeed, and he is posting content that is illegal known as CP. (Jump to CP on wikipedia to know what that is)
Now, Autofeed doesn't just simply terminate him, they actually ban his IP, so a mod basically just puts his IP on a blacklist and then, he can't access the site anymore, he's gone for good, which is good.

Table with Autofeed's cookie contents:
Name What it contains Why
PHPSESSID Session key Tracks your session
userId Your user id Let's the server know which user you are and what links to set
userIdentifier Your IP address Available for moderators incase you need to be IP-Terminated/Blacklisted
username Your username Let's the server know which user you are
